Portland Maine Generators homepage: Outage now? strip above a navy grid hero with the headline Standby Generator Installation & Service in Portland, Maine and a lit house in a snowstorm
Portland Maine Generators on a phone: Outage now? repair link, the headline on navy, and an amber Free Estimates call bar fixed to the bottom

The brief

The site is organized around how homeowners actually look for standby power: by brand, by price and by problem. That meant dedicated Generac and Kohler pages, a localized installed-cost page and a fast path to repair help, with copy grounded in real Maine outages like the October 2017 wind storm and the December 2023 storm.

What I built

  • Homepage plus six service pages: Generac installation, Generac service, Kohler generators, whole-house generator cost, generator repair and maintenance plans
  • Homeowner guides, five in all, on generator sizing, standby vs. portable in a Maine winter, outage length, propane vs. natural gas and home value
  • Cost page that lays out real installed price ranges, where the money goes and what moves a quote up or down
  • Homepage strip asking Outage now? that sends anyone whose generator will not start or transfer straight to the repair page
  • Design system in storm navy and volt amber, with Space Grotesk type, a thin live-wire gradient strip, a utility-grid hero texture and red outage accents
  • Structured data on every page type (business details for 12 towns, FAQs, articles, breadcrumbs) and sitemap dates checked before every build
  • WebP photo set resized to multiple widths for split heroes, guide heroes and homepage figures
  • Mobile call bar that leads with the free-estimate offer and shortens its label on very narrow screens
