The brief

CCP Percherons had a page-builder site. The goal was to move it to a custom build and give the team a purpose-built admin for the things they update: shows, horse profiles, and photos. Shows also needed to move from upcoming to past on their own, with the team deciding how long past shows stay listed.

What I built

  • Custom site rebuilt from the old page-builder version: Home, Horse Shows, Our Horses, The Ranch, About, and Contact, with profiles for all 11 horses
  • Show listings that sort into upcoming and past by date automatically, with a detail page for each show
  • Admin dashboard with a secure login to add, edit, and delete shows and horses and upload their images
  • Setting that controls how long past shows stay listed, with seven options from one week to until manually deleted
  • Contact form that emails the team
  • Video hero with separate phone and desktop cuts, compressed by 85 percent, so each device loads only the cut it needs
  • Page animations and navigation that turns solid on scroll
  • Fixed iOS video autoplay and tuned layouts for phones and tablets

Detail 01

Horse profiles are managed from the admin, and color-coded tags mark each horse’s place in the hitch: lead, swing, wheel, or spare.
